Artists need sponsors the same as startup tech companies need venture capitalists. Have you considered backing an artist?
I am seeking one or two good sponsors and a mentor for guidance in marketing and navigating as an emerging artist.

The viewer can have the understanding that her thought process at times needs a rest and that alluring art can both please or rest the mind, then open it to further thought on how to solve our problems here on earth and find a way to end war.

Installing the new Show, Living In The Woods.
Oil on Canvas, 72” x 72” approx., This painting was applied to stretchers and hangs over my baby grandson's mattress. He loves this painting and stares at it for hours. This was the first version of JULY. It was installed o n the wall of my baby grandson'w bed. He stares in fascination and tranquility. He is in a state of contentment when laying with his painting. This is then power of art.
This is a perfect example of why a purchase of art is more important than so many other purchases.
My paintings in their totality are saying that Art can be separated from politics to give our minds rest from the daily, heavy, crucial problems, and that by taking a walk in nature, in contemplating art for art’s sake you can rest then open your mind once again to grapple with ponderous world solutions.
My studio is my happy place where natural light floods in and influences my views of the world both literally and metaphorically.
While the Field of Irises and most of my paintings are focused on art for art’s sake, the pivotal part of my art is the series of women reclining, contemplating the political mayhem of human rights, equality, racism, government, corporate power, the supreme court, greed, hunger, women’s health rights, and access to education.
My paintings are also saying that your thoughts and ideas matter. My thoughts and ideas matter.
Oil on Canvas; 24 x 36 inches; $1,500
Description: When the viewer sees the section of women reclining a jolt of reasoning may take form. The viewer can take her (his) cue from this series to understand the theme of all of my paintings and that is to think and contemplate for herself and to be mindful that while the beauty of art initially gives her rest it afterwards opens her mind to the issues and solutions in this country.
Oil on Canvas; 24 x 36 inches; $2,000
I was thinking about using the tools of communication to trigger the Tide Of Change. Using television and internet communication to open a dialogue with the people in a direct and personal manner weekly and monthly. Let the public’s voices be heard. Cell phone technology could allow people to vote on issues as they arise. Picture a monthly cell phone vote on voting rules, elimination of the electoral college, length of campaigns, limits of campaign, donations, rules pertaining to equality, drug laws, gun laws.
Oil on Canvas; 24 x 36 inches; $500
I'm thinking of marshaling the talents of the most persuasive, impelling members of our society to convince those who have turned to greed to change their mind set and come back to our world of generosity. Money is power, but it is not the only kind of power. In today’s world a few greedy individuals have amassed such giant and powerful fortunes that they are ruining life for the rest of us. People have power by their actions and manner of communication. People can effect a positive change in the face of money power.
After WWII the United States gained a reputation of generosity and kindness toward a war torn world. We have lost that reputation but, We, The People can turn this problem around.
Oil on Canvas; 24 x 36 inches; $600 The symbolism of the book represents the search for knowledge and the facts to use as a foundation for developing your ideas, your own solutions.
I'm thinking about how to put Education first. It is the keystone of solving all problems. I would double the number of teachers and cut in half the number of students in a classroom. You can see how many jobs this would create. Let’s expand on the successful program of Wendy Kopp, “Teach For America”, let’s expand on the other successful programs individual schools in Colorado, Philadelphia and around the country have created and implemented. I would open direct lines of communication between the teachers and the Secretary of Education. I would encourage discussion in the classroom on a wide range of subjects: the subjects and interests the students have, civic responsibility, study of the constitution, voting rights, the difference between greed and generosity, morals, ethics, what is the right thing to do, equality, practical instruction for topics like, “how to fill in a tax form, how to be an entrepreneur, how to manage a business
With weekly and monthly publicly broadcasted chats I can include everyone in a discussion about education.
Oil on Canvas; 24 x 36 inches; $500
I am thinking of gearing up, organizing, defining the problems of climate and finding the solutions before we run out of time, before we become extinct. To gain people’s interest, to help people focus, to become a united front on this perilous journey I would broadcast the many accurate and powerful documentaries that have been produced on the subject, let them be seen in public schools, teach about every facet of climate in our classrooms.
Oil on Canvas; 24 x 36 inches; $800
I am thinking about how I could influence people's ideas for a new voting system. We could have a special vote to see if the majority of people want improvements on our voting system and an avenue in which to express their opinions on changing the system. The people could decide if they want any changes, they could have a voice on the questions of sizes and shapes of voting districts, eliminating the electoral college, creating an election by the majority, gaining the right to vote on issues through out the year and not just for elected officials.
Oil on Canvas; 24 x 36 inches; $1,000
I'm thinking about the possibility of the citizens of the US all weighing in on a fair tax system. At present the people with an income between 2 hundred and 9 hundred thousand dollars are paying the majority of the total taxes collected by the government. These people generally don't mind paying taxes because they understand that the government needs to function, and they still have enough money to live on after they pay their taxes. I kn ow this is an opinion and not exactly a fact.
The people who earn less than 2 hundred thousand are paying a little less than half of the sum collected in taxes. These people have a harder time living after they pay their taxes and many of these people have a difficult time keeping up with their house payments, car payments and groceries.
Meanwhile too many of the people who earn millions or billions of dollars per year are not paying any taxes. So it is the people who earn less than a million who are supporting the government. People who don’t pay taxes are cheating. I am thinking about how to use the tax system to turn the tide of greed to generosity.
Another big problem with our tax system is for people in the middle class tax bracket who are over age 70 and still working. If these 70 year olds have to work let them keep all of their earnings. They need them.
There are many people in the million dollar range who don’t need their social security check. I would provide an avenue for these people to donate their check to someone living at the bottom of the pay scale. Perhaps this action wouldn’t be forever, but only while the baby boomers are moving through retirement and old age.
Oil on Canvas; 24 x 36 inches; $1000
I am thinking about the fact that China and Russia are big countries and about the possibilities of The United States becoming a bigger country by joining together with Canada, and Mexico in education. We need friends and goodwill , not enemies. Some people in England are talking about joining the US as the 51st State!
Oil on Canvas; 24 x 36 inches; $1000
I am thinking about striving to build a strong bicycle culture not unlike the bicycle culture found in Netherlands and Belgium. I want to give a vision to all Americans of bike trails crisscrossing the country, bike trails leading from suburbia to our cities, bike trails leading from our farms and countryside into small towns, bike trails leading from our homes to every public school.
We could have a special vote and if the people are supportive of this idea we could build a bike trail along every new road construction. Bike trails could be built in our National Parks every time they repair their roads.
Make bicycling safe and you will save on carbon emissions, and build a healthy populace.

Painting Title: In Her Dream
The plane rumbled ferociously as it sped through the storm. One more hard shake and the wing broke off. Then the exit door’s clamp released and she was sucked through the opening, clearing the plane as she began her descent. She had often practiced a drill in her mind for this predicament; stay calm, envision God sending his angles to safely carry her to earth, flap your arms to slow your descent. She glimpses a branch jutting out from the cliff and locks her hands firmly. Looking around for a way up she knows she won’t have the strength to hold long. At the same time she noticed under her a soft leafy mass of tree top. Letting go she lands in the tree not as gently as she might have liked but she survived the scratches and had a rest while calming herself and conjuring her next move. Still envisioning the angels’ rescue the nest of leaves gives way and she again flaps her arm as she softly falls to the shoreline and lands gently on the the ocean’s edge.
Description: I was thinking about being a nurturing leader who inspires the people to do the right thing. Inspired citizens can cause change and improvements deeper than forced laws. Of course people need to be living a less desperate life style. 70% of our citizens are living from pay check to pay check for food, shelter, health care, and often many are lacking basic human rights. First, before they can raise their heads up to think about climate change, and the moral fiber of this world the larger percentage of our citizens need the pressure lowered to be able to raise their heads up to think and help this great country and the world. I have a plan.

Woods II, painted in a frenzy, is a continuation of life lived in the deep, dark woods. It represents both the satisfaction of uninterrupted solitude and the possibility of depression due to loneliness. The massive trees, the dense darkness lead to thoughts of our relative significance and insignificance to nature.
#I. Dense Woods, Oil on Canvas, 70 1/2” x 68 1/2”, $5,000. My favorite work is often my most recent work. WOODS II is my most recent work and I am quite excited about how these 5 paintings express the quality, the sensations that the woods that I live in, that surround my home, my studio give me. They surround me, envelop me.
